Buchanan Healthcare Center Services
Whether you need short-term rehabilitation or long-term care, our staff of physicians and licensed professionals will work with you to achieve your goals for recovery. We begin with a conversation about what you would like to accomplish in relation to your recovery and establish a plan of care that will get you better sooner.
Physical Rehabilitation
Physical Rehabilitation describes specialized healthcare dedicated to improving, maintaining or restoring physical strength, cognition, and mobility. Typically, rehabilitation helps people gain greater independence after illness, injury, or surgery.
The type of therapy a client needs is determined by a team of experts, including a physician, in order to determine the best treatment plan to achieve the client’s goals for well-being. Our focus is to get you or your loved one better quickly with a combination of therapies that may include:
-
Physical therapy for increased strength and mobility,
-
Occupational therapy for improved everyday living skills and
-
Speech and language therapy for improved communication or swallowing.
Our results-oriented rehabilitation programs are developed to enhance healing, as well as, improve or maintain physical and cognitive function. To schedule a tour of the rehabilitation department, contact Admissions Coordinator.
Long term Care
Skilled nursing facilities, also called nursing homes, provide a wide range of health and personal care services. Their services focus on medical care more than most assisted living facilities.
These services typically include nursing care, 24-hour supervision, three meals a day, and assistance with everyday activities, such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Rehabilitation services such as physical, occupational, and speech therapy are also available. Many people stay at a nursing home for a short time after being in the hospital for certain conditions.
After they recover, they go home. Some nursing home patients decide to live in the nursing home because they have ongoing physical or mental conditions that require constant care and supervision.
